London

March 22

The ferry crossing back from Ireland was pretty uneventful. We arrived back in Bangor around 5:00 Thursday evening, leaving me enough time for a load of laundry before hitting the sack. Our train for London left at 8:01 Friday morning, so after swapping out the dirty clothes for clean ones and packing a lunch, we were off.
Once in London, we took the Tube from Euston to Victoria, where Weis did her best to lead us to Vandon House. In the process she managed to run over some ladies heel with her suitcase, and the lady made sure to voice her anger with a few choice words.
For dinner, we dropped nearly $150 between the five of us at Haha’s. We weren’t laughing. Later we played a game of Phase 10 as we waited for Cain to show up. He wanted some extra time in Bangor to show his family around before they headed home.
During our tour of London on Saturday, Swaff led us around Buckingham Palace, all the Parliament buildings, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Tower Bridge, pretty much all the tourist crap. Near Tower Bridge, the sky got real dark. Moments later, we got caught in a hailstorm. No more than three minutes the sky cleared up. We also visited the Camden Market, where they had a bunch of crap for sale.
Before leaving London, we spotted a Lambo parked about a block from Vandon. We flew out of Stansted Airport, which for any practical purpose is not London. The transfer from Victoria required a £10, 1 ¾ hour bus ride. The line for security was pretty long, but we appeared to be in good shape on time. I picked up a Newsweek off the ground and thumbed through it as we waited. As we got up through the line, it seemed as if nobody had ever flown before. Apparently none of the guys thought the liquid rule was for real. Cain got his aerosol sun block taken away, and Swaff was forced to go dump the milk from his Nalgene and return to the end of the line. We check the time, and worried that he might be cutting it real close. Fortunately, the line had died down a bit, and our plane was delayed about 45 minutes. I think he would have made it without the delay, but its better to be safe than sorry.
